Megyn Kelly
In an interview with Maria Salazar (Carmen Henk), she expresses her feelings about the Budget and Congress.
"After the budget signing, I talked with Representative Salazar to hear more of her thoughts. She expresses how proud she is to have passed this dignity program within the federal budget bill. I do not think most of my Republican Constituents even read it, so Matt Gaetz was upset to hear that he got passed. But personally, it was a huge deal for me. It's been something I have been working on ever since I have been in Congress for over two years. Since over 50% of my constituents were not born in this country, it is essential to me that we give these people a path to citizenship because I know that most of them are hardworking and they would like the chance. Many die here without ever being citizens and not having the benefits of being an American citizen, which is very unfair. Despite concerns, this is not letting in any illegal terrorists or any dangerous people because there are extensive background checks, and it's almost like you have a patrol officer who continuously checks on you over seven years. People who are trying to come into the country to do drugs aren't going to go through a 7-year process to do it. It is inefficient and doesn't help them in the long run. It only helps people who are committed to it. I am very proud I was able to pass this. I believe we started a little rough but more partisan, with more arguments. But I think throughout the term, we came to understand what this is about, that it is for the American people, so I think we came together in the end, especially in passing this budget. I think it ended very well."
Thank you to Representative Salazar and all the other Representatives. Overall, it was fabulous, successful, and, most importantly, entertaining!
